LONDON - When we have nothing better to do than to look at our phone, for sure, we play Candy Crush. This is the most popular game on the world’s biggest Social Media which has a sales volume of $600,000 per day and has currently become the most profitable game app on Facebook.
The Man behind this idea is Riccardo Zacconi (on the pic), who decided to move from Rome to London in 2001, to found his company: King.com. Twelve years later King.com and his founder have become some of the Internet’s most influential people. One hundred people, to be more precise! The ranking is published by The Guardian and there are more or less famous names like Marissa Mayer (Yahoo!), Larry Page (Google), Tim Cook (Apple), Jeff Bezos (Amazon) Rupert Murdoch (CNN, Sky etc etc) who obviously occupy the first ten positions; Riccardo Zacconi, 46 y.o., is in ranked 56th.
Candy Crush (on the smart phone display you can create special sweets such as striped candy, wrapped candy and rainbow candy) is on free download for entry level, but if you want to pass to the next ones, you will have to pay from $0.99 to a few dollars. A great business for the Social Gaming industry that is tipped to be worth $15bn by 2015, because every day some 1bn of its games are played on mobile.
A big part of this success is made by King.com and his co-founder Riccardo Zacconi ready to go public on The Stock Exchange, on the basis of the economic forecast published by The Wall Street Journal. (A.A.)
